I have been at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) for over twenty years. I am currently the Assistant Director of eLearning Services, which is part of the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). We support users on all the campuses as they use instructional technologies, such as Blackboard. I am also the go-to person in our department for information about accessibility issues.
When I came to South Carolina, I worked at the College of Education as Director of the Office of Instructional Support. I also taught in the Program in Special Education and the Educational Technology Program. I have always tried to identify and use free educational and productivity tools, and I have tried multiple ways to organize the ever-changing information about all these areas of interest.
I have had this site since 2004 and I am currently doing a massive redesign. The main purpose has always been to help me organize my lists of resources and answers to frequently asked questions. You will see that I will link to other places like the numerous Google Sites or Google Docs I began to use over the years when editing a web site like this was much more complex.
If you can find some useful information on the site, that's wonderful.

This is the general term I use for what I do. The tools continue to change and new challenges continue to be discovered.
I have a degree in Special Education Technology from back in the days when voice input and touch screens were cutting-edge technologies!
I have been a Blackboard user, trainer and support person since the university originally evaluated LMS options twenty years ago.
I taught online and through other distributed models since the early years. Keeping up with new tools and techniques is never-ending.
I no longer teach at the university, but I regularly conduct training activities. I love discovering new ways to help people learn at all levels

There weren’t a lot of opportunities for girls to play, but I have great memories of watching sports with my father and grandfather.
When designing a web page, you always need to create a place for those miscellaneous items that don’t fit anywhere else.
Bill and I have been married over 20 years. His sisters celebrated our very casual wedding by giving us matching flamingos.
I taught at both the elementary and high school levels in Virginia before moving into higher education. This was my first year.
